This department is in charge of the following administrative and general service duties:-

1. Granting of approval for all physical development in the state, both government and private developments.
2. Routine patrol of development sites to ensure that developers do not build without proper building permits. This is achievable through the instrumentality of all Area Planning Officers across the state.
3. Evaluation of Physical Planning Technical Reports (SAR, EIAR, LUPAR) for the purpose of planning permit approvals.
4. Ensures that plans are submitted in the planning permit department.
5. Ensures that permits are granted within the stipulated timeline of ten(10) days.
6. Vetting of building plans before granting approval.
7. Development of e-planning process and archival system.
